Reliable Treadmill

This is the Horizon T202 branded for Candian Tire, I would suggest buying a

Horizon CT7.1 Treadmill – Overview

If you are looking for a Horizon treadmill in Canada, you will probably notice by now that they come in 2 series; the CT series and the T series. CT actually stands for “Canadian Tire” – which we believe everyone knows who they are – giant retailer in Canada, while T stands for regular “Treadmill” (no surprise there). In fact, they are actually the same, just rebranded and retagged to give Canadian Tire the exclusive rights etc. You get the idea.

So here, this Horizon CT7.1 Treadmill review is bascially a review for the T202 model as well. If you are interested in getting the “CT7.1 model”, then it can be found only at Canadian Tire – which means it is usually more expensive than others. A ‘smart’ buyer will go for a T202 unit instead because its usually $100-$200 cheaper and its the EXACT model we are talking about. Well, of course, its up to you.

The Horizon CT7.1 Treadmill was released around 2010 from Horizon, by Johnson Fitness – same manufacturer as AFG (Advanced Fitness Group) and the popular Livestrong series and Matrix for commercial. The Horizon CT7.1 (Canadian Tire) model priced this treadmill at whooping $2,199 (hard to believe), while the Horizon T202 is usually priced at around $800 or lower. So there, you can easily save $1000+ by going with the T model. As mentioned, its the exact same treadmill anyways – you can tell by comparing its specs.

The Horizon CT7.1 treadmill was once a popular treadmill due to its price. It is a folding treadmill, perfect if you have limited space in your house. It is equipped with FeatherLIGHT lift system that makes it easy for you to fold/unfold.

This treadmill comes with a 2.5CHP motor. In our opinion, it is a little ‘weak’ as of 2012. Most treadmill nowadays offers 2.75CHP, such as the AFG 3.1AT treadmill. A 0.25 difference in CHP can have a big impact on workout experience. For example, at 2.75CHP, the nose level will be greatly reduced and allowing the belt to run more smoothly.

Display on the Horizon CT7.1 treadmill is up to today’s standard; LED display, alphanumeric message center, workout profile. Whats missing in comparison to today’s treadmill standard is a USB port. You only get what comes with it. Unlike the new AFG series, you cannot download and update your profile, programs and other cool stuff for free. In another words, in terms of features and programs, this treadmill is NOT upgradable. However, the Horizon CT7.1 treadmill does comes with the preset standard programs including interval training, weight loss program etc. You get the idea – since this can be found in almost all treadmills nowadays anyways.

Running area on this treadmill is pretty standard; Same as the AFG 3.1AT Treadmill at 20″ x 55″. It is acceptable as an entry-level or ‘light’ usage workouts, but for anyone who is serious about losing weight and running on treadmill intensively, it is recommended to go with treadmill that offers 20″ x 60″ running aread instead.
