Precor 9.33 Treadmill Review

Lower Price Point makes this treadmill a decent buy

Great treadmill but at this price why not just jump to a True Treadmill? Precor keeps relying on their name for sales with no new innovation. Cushioning on Precor 9.3 series treadmills are also not as good as others in similar price points.

Precor 9.33 Treadmill – Overview

If you have been working out at fitness clubs and gyms etc, you should’ve noticed by now that they are pretty much everywhere. Most gyms use it because of their durability, strong reputation and low maintenance. There are dozen of positive reasons why commercial gyms use their machine. Notice how we quoted ‘commercial’? That’s because a lot of users often get confused with their ‘residential’ machines.

Precor ‘home use’ and ‘commercial’ line are completely different
Precor is no doubt a very reputable brand in the commercial fitness industry, but not quite for ‘home use’ due to their skyrocking prices. Most of their machines are priced around $1000+ higher than other reputable brands such as livestrong, AFG, Horizon etc. which makes it not quite a ‘wise purchase’. Yes, its cool looking, long-lasting but is it really worth the extra $1000? Lets take a look at what we have to say below;

Precor 9.33 Treadmill Reviews

The Precor 9.33 treadmill makes use of the framework and many of the components of their light institutional treadmill machines. This unit is priced at around $4,500 – $5,000 in most stores. Opps, I hope that didn’t scare you. However, what you’re paying for is one of the most durable fitness treadmills in the market. By looking at the price, you should be able to tell that the Precor 9.33 is not for general individuals, but serious users who want uncompromising top quality treadmills.

There are two features that are equipped on the 9.3 series that allow them to stand out from other treadmill models; Soil Effects Impact Control & Built-in Footplant Technology. As high tech as it may sound, we were told that both these features were based on extensive R&D, and are designed to enhance the user’s experience. So lets get into more into what the heck those really are;

Precor 9.33 Treadmill – Ground Results Impact Handle

This unique feature on the Precor 9.33 treadmill eliminates the impact according to your height and weight. It adjusts the actual shock absorption based on the intensity of the impact.

Precor 9.33 Treadmill – Incorporated Footplant Technology (IFT)

According to the ‘Chief Innovation Officer’ of Precor, the incorporated footplant technology is what makes Precor unique and a perfect example of why Precor treadmills are priced much higher than others.

OK so this is how it works: As you run, your footsteps produce a unique design of accelerating as well as decelerating. Through the IFT, the treadmill recognize and register your pace, checking the electric motor speed up to 710 times per second.

Then, based on the speed, the treadmill changes the speed of the belt to match your natural movement. This results in a reduction of discomfort and stress to your important joints. Very cool huh?

Precor 9.33 Treadmill – Other Features

Beside the 2 unique features mentioned above, it also comes with standard features that most treadmills offer such as; LED console display, Heart Rate Control etc. Nothing too unique about these, to be frank.

Precor 9.33 Treadmill – Do we recommend it?

Unfortunately, the answer is NO. Absolutely not. Not even if you have money to spend. The reason why we arent recommending Precor 9.33 is because you can get European legend (and will soon be North Amercian’s too) BH LK590 treadmill for better specs, higher quality and longer warranty for $4000, so this will save you $500 – $1000 easily. If you haven’t read our reviews on it yet, you should.

Some may argue that Precor is a good brand and professional gyms are using it blah blah blah. But most dont realized that Precor’s ‘home-use (residential)’ and ‘commercial’ are completely different series.

Lastly, for your information, Precor is not the same company as it used to. A few years ago, Precor nearly went bankrupt and was sold to another company. Therefore, this manufacturer has changed significantly, parts are hard to find, support is almost non-existent. For a $4500 – $5000 treadmill, you definitely don’t need to go through all these trouble and concerns.
