Precor 9.31 Treadmill Review

Lower Price Point makes this treadmill a decent buy

Great treadmill but at this price why not just jump to a True Treadmill? Precor keeps relying on their name for sales with no new innovation. Cushioning on Precor 9.3 series treadmills are also not as good as others in similar price points.

Alot of users find the Precor 9.31 treadmill very attractive due to its brand and quality.

Unfortunately, our reviews on Precor 9.31 treadmill reveals that it is actually not as great as it seems due to its price and misconception in the brand name itself. We often find most treadmill buyers show confidence in Precor machines simply because they have seen and used it in commercial gyms. Just this factor alone caused many buyers to think “Precor” machines are what professional uses, and they should too.

Precor 9.31 Treadmill – Residential is NOT the same as Commercial

The Precor machines in commercial gyms are completely different than the ones for home-use (residental) and the Precor 9.31 treadmill is a good example. Despite the fact that this is a Precor branded treadmill, it has designed for home-use and has ZERO ties with the comemrcial line. It is bulit with a complete different concept, quality and mechanics. So lets us get this right to begin with – Residential and commerical series are completely different.

The Precor 9.31 treadmill targets serious home-use users with a powerful 3.0 continuous duty motor, up to 12 mph and 15% incline. No doubt, these are specs built for intensive workouts and heavy runners. Unfortunately, the treadbelt equipped on this machine seems to be fairly weak – with only 22″ x 56″ running surface, it may not satisfy most runners out there.

Precor 9.31 Treadmill – Limited Programs

In addition to its weakness, the Precor 9.31 treadmill only comes with 8 pre-set programs. This is even more basic and plain than Horizon’s lower tier machines. Many users find it boring after a few months of use. Lastly, the warranty on the Precor 9.31 treadmill is a shame – with only 1 year for labor. We expect much longer warranty on a $4000 range machine.

Precor 9.31 Treadmill Reviews
This machine is priced around $4000 – $4300 in most stores. It is only recommended to users with millions of dollars and dont know where to spend. It is one of the ‘worst buy’ in 2012. While quality is decent, everything else that comes with it are simply too basic for a $4000 range treadmill.
