Good and recognizable brand

Life Fitness makes good treadmills from the T5.0 model and up. Sub par stability in the F1 and F3 models.

Nevertheless, we thought it would be beneficial to take a look at the Life Fitness T3 treadmill to see if it could live up to its brand. We did a thorough review of its advantages and disadvantages and here’s what we found:

  • Maximum running speed of 12 mph

What We Think On Life Fitness T3 Treadmill

As we expected, for the price of the Life Fitness T3 treadmill it far underperformed in almost all aspects of a good treadmill. Pertaining to the hardware specs, the Life Fitness does come equipped with a 3.0 continuous horsepower motor, a maximum running speed of 12 mph, and a maximum incline range of 15%. To top it off the T3 features a roomy 20” x 60” cushioned running area. No doubt these features are far better than we’ve seen on the lower residential models offered by Life Fitness. However, when considering these features it’s important to look at the cost of the treadmill. For a treadmill costing this much we wouldn’t expect anything less than these specs which come standard on almost every treadmill at this price point.

When it comes to pre-programmed workouts and other features consumers will have to decide between two console options – the Go Console and the Track Console. For an extra few hundred dollars the Track model comes equipped with 1 extra workout program, 2 more user profiles, 2 extra custom workouts and iPad compatibility. The Track console will also allow you to connect to Life Fitness LFconnect which allows users to create custom workouts as well as track their results online. Although these are some great extra features, we believe they should come without the extra cost given the already high price of the base model.

Perhaps one of the largest disadvantages of the Life Fitness T3 treadmill is its lower quality parts and components used in the manufacturing process. Although beginner users won’t notice a difference, more experienced treadmill users will notice the overall quality of the machine is lacking. This is especially noticeable when it comes to the motor which tends to drag at the highest running speed. For the price of the T3 we recommend passing on it and instead opting for the True ES900. The ES900 comes equipped with professional-grade treadmill components and most up-to-date treadmill technology.

In conclusion, if you’re looking for an overpriced piece of equipment sold solely on the basis of its brand name rather than its quality, then the Life Fitness T3 might be the treadmill for you. If on the other hand you want a top quality, award-winning treadmill, you can’t go wrong with the True ES900. Although, it’s a little more costly than the T3, we believe that it’s well worth the investment. For individuals looking for a great buy at a lower price, we recommend you look into the AFG 7.1AT.
